Bruce commenced practice as a solicitor in 1978. In more than 32 years of practice, Bruce has undertaken a broad range of matters. These have included conveyancing, buying and selling of businesses, mortgage work, general litigation, wills, powers of attorney, enduring guardianships, estates, criminal law and family law.
In 1988, Bruce started the firm of Baker Ryrie Rickards Titmarsh and in 2008 joined Elliot Tuthill to concentrate on his role as a solicitor rather than dividing his time between management and law.

Experience
Over the years Bruce has acted for a number of large institutions, including being an Honorary Solicitor for the Master Builders Association, a panel solicitor for various housing societies, a panel solicitor for a bank and continues to act for an international estimating company and an international engineering company. He has a particular interest in Indonesia and is a director of a foreign investment company there.
Bruce now provides advice in relation to the estates, wills, powers of attorney, enduring guardianships and general litigation. However, his particular areas of expertise include family law and criminal law. There are very few solicitors who hold the dual specialisations and Bruce is in an unusual position to provide advice and represent clients in relation to family law and criminal law. Bruce has regularly appeared in the Local Court over many years representing clients in a variety of matters including drink driving, assault, drug matters, driving matters and apprehended violence orders.
Similarly, over many years, Bruce has regularly appeared in the Family Court and the Federal Magistrates Court, representing clients in a diverse area of matters including divorce, property division and children's matters. He has appeared in complex matters of significance and from his broad experience and qualifications, has been able to assist thousands of clients resolve their various problems.
Bruce is mindful of the necessity to deal with family law and criminal law clients in a manner which can best resolve their problems quickly and cost effectively. He attempts to explain the law in plain English and always provides estimates of costs in advance.
